What should I do to get my girlfriend playing video games?

Posted on September 5, 2008

I feel like my girlfriend and I would be a lot closer if she would play video games, and she wants too learn too. What should I do to get her started? What games should I let her play to get started?

Any Mario/Zelda game, Animal Crossing, Worms, Super Smash Brothers, The Sims 2 to get her started…

Something fun to start out with, then go into games like Baldur's Gate or Gauntlet for some co-op play together.

What are good sites to download free Sony PSP video games from to save on your memory card?

I'm looking for some basic video games for a psp that I can download for free and put on my memory card to play on my psp without having the umd disk for the game. Any good virus-free sites that anyone has found?

No that guy is wrong. Theirs tons and tons of web pages that let you download free stuff to your psp, but be careful because it voids your warranty. I can't find the damn web site me and my buddy just used (we go the original quake and other cool sh*t) but this web site is a start. http://pspmonster.blogspot.com/
Plus, just go to google or something and type in "free downloads psp game" and take a few minutes and look around.

What is the best program to record video of and take screenshots of video games on the PC?

Howdy.

I'd like to record some video (and take screenshots of) me playing vertain games on my PC. I'd like to know what you think of various programs, and if you have one that you use. Free is preferable, but any suggestion at all is welcome. I would just get Fraps, but I'm more than a bit hesitant about shelling out 37 big ones on it.

What I'm looking for is something with which I can shoot video and take screenshots without making my game lag. I'm looking for the kind of thing the guys who post their game videos on YouTube have. If Fraps is the only option, that's what I'll do, but I'd really like your input.

Thanks in advance.

there is a desktop recorder available for free go here ….

…… sadly it will eat all your CPU process, all screen or desktop recorders act like this…… so, gaming experience maybe too lag….

solution:
— record your game through another pc…..

requirements:
TV tuner with line input…
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TV_tuner_card
Audio input
Video card with RF out or S-video

No lags, all video and audio is recorded, high quality video…

email me if you need more info: mamacmarino@yahoo.com.ph

How could school work and homework ever compete with video games? Any ideas?

Posted on September 5, 2008

My son and his friends go after Halo 3 and Guitar Hero like they are mad scientists on the verge of a cure for cancer. They could stay up all night, skip meals, even turn down a trip to the mall, just to get to the next level on their video game. How can educators ever generate such enthusiasm and interest for academics? Who says academics have to be so boring? Who says we couldn’t merge the two (video games and academics)? How can we do it?

MARIO TEACHES TYPING!!!

I kid, i kid, that game was terrible.

Video gaming and education are closer than a lot of teachers think. Complex video games can build reflexes, encourage complex problem solving (legend of zelda, anyone?) hand-eye co-ordination and many other skills.

Here's a thought : Teach what kids or students want to learn.

That's really down to the government, though.

So you're screwed.

How can you stop a brother from playing video games?

Posted on September 5, 2008
By admin in video games

I have a little brother who has been playing video games since he was one years old. Now he is five years old. He plays his games like 5 hrs a day! Or even the whole day! He is like so good at it! He is sometimes really lazy.

I guess trying to hide his games would be an idea. Getting him into something else like reading books or you can help him get into sports.

Get him into some little league of the sport he likes.

As a sister, there isn't much to do but your parents would be more effective towards getting him out of gaming.

Possibly hooking up the cable through a VCR?

if you have a monitor thats capable of ataching a scart cable to you can atach your cable box and playstation (or whatever console your using) to it….you might want to try www.alluc.org this gives you a decent list off on demand shows.

Are there any video games or tutorials that teach people how to design a video game?

Posted on September 4, 2008
By admin in video games

My 15-year-old nephew is interested in video game design. Can anyone reccommend a good tutorial or even a video game which teaches people the process of designing and creating video games?

Thank you.

He needs to go to college for that, there are many courses that are to do with the film or game industry all from game programing to the artistic side to it such as concept art or storyboarding. It is a lot more complex than it seems and you usually need a good team of people to create one.

There is a CD rom which lets people create their own basic video game but you are quite limited because all you change are the environments, the characters and the sounds etc. This CD rom is called something like 3D Game Maker.
If he would like to try making smaller online games which he can make by himself then get him a program called Macromedia Flash MX, this is very easy to use and comes with lots of tutorials.

Im doing a project in my ethics class and I would like some opinions of what anyone thinks cyber eithics in video games are. Theres no right answer, just curious. Please everyone answer! Thanks!

in so far as I know, there are no ethics. everything from rape to murder are depicted in video games so if there are ethics involved, I would certainly like to know what they are myself
