Is there a difference between being a certified surgical tech or getting an associates to be a surgical tech?
Im currently going to a nationally accredited school in orlando,FL to be a surgical tech pursuing an associates in science, and this course is 22 months long. Now i just found out there is another school nearby that is regionally accredited and is only 10 months long and only has certification for this field and what i want to know is if its really worth it for me to go after an associates degree from a nationally accredited school when there is a regionally accredited school that i can go to for less than half of the time to be certified as a scrub tech.
o.k. I checked into the differance while deciding what I was going to do. Go for the 22 months, as the 10 month is like 4 steps below the Associates, and the Associates is going to pay more and certainly give you a better chance at getting a job, the pros for the 10 month certification is to get you started, but why waste the 10 months, whenyour going to have to do the other anyway to move up in your field. Go for the best, get a degree.
